Vaser uses ultrasound to emulsify fat before it is removed. It allows precise sculpting of the abdomen, waist, back, arms and thighs while respecting the surrounding tissue, with less swelling than traditional liposuction.
Unlike conventional liposuction, Vaser ultrasound separates fat selectively, which gives a more natural contour and highlights the underlying muscle when definition is the goal. The fat collected can be used for transfer to the buttocks or to balance other areas.
Dr. Yolotzin is an instructor in body contouring technologies for Latin America and combines Vaser with Renuvion or BodyTite when the skin needs help tightening. Every plan is designed in consultation around your anatomy, your lifestyle and what you want to achieve.
Is it for me?
People close to their ideal weight with localized fat that doesn't respond to exercise.
Anyone looking for abdominal or waist definition.
As part of a plan together with fat transfer to the buttocks or skin tightening.
What you should know
How it's done, how to care for it and what to expect.
General information so you arrive at your consultation with the right questions. Your plan is defined at your consultation.
Technique
Markings done standing, with the patient in front of the mirror, to plan the areas and the level of definition.
Infiltration of tumescent solution and emulsification of the fat with Vaser ultrasound before suctioning it out.
Fine cannulas through 3 to 4 mm incisions in natural folds; the fat collected can be transferred to the buttocks or reused.
Renuvion or BodyTite at the end when the skin needs to tighten.
Aftercare
Compression garment 24 hours a day for the first 4 to 6 weeks.
Manual lymphatic drainage from the first week (usually 8 to 10 sessions).
Walk from day one; no intense exercise during the first month.
Sun protection and no smoking: nicotine slows healing.
Results and how long they last
Visible from week 3 or 4 and fully defined between the third and sixth month. The fat removed does not grow back, but a stable weight is what maintains the contour.
Risks and how we reduce them
As with any surgery, there is a risk of irregularities, seromas, changes in sensation and, less often, infection. These are reduced with an honest consultation, a hospital operating room and close follow-up.
