Breast Reduction

Breast reduction removes tissue and skin to achieve breasts that are proportionate, lifted and more comfortable. For many patients it is, before anything aesthetic, a quality-of-life surgery.

Breast Reduction: Back and neck relief with a lighter shape

How it works

Back and neck pain, bra-strap grooves and difficulty exercising are frequent reasons for consultation. With training in breast surgery, Dr. Yolotzin plans each reduction with care for the blood supply to the nipple and its sensation.

The resulting scars (around the areola and vertical, sometimes in an inverted T) are explained clearly in consultation and cared for with a scar-maturation protocol.

Is it for me?

  • Large breasts that cause physical discomfort.
  • Marked asymmetry.
  • Anyone looking for firmer breasts in a better position.

What you should know

How it's done, how to care for it and what to expect.

General information so you arrive at your consultation with the right questions. Your plan is defined at your consultation.

Technique

  • Anchor or vertical incision pattern depending on how much tissue needs to be removed.
  • Breast tissue and skin are removed and the nipple-areola complex is lifted while preserving its blood supply and sensation in most cases.
  • Can be combined with lateral liposculpture for a cleaner contour.

Aftercare

  • Wire-free support bra for 6 weeks.
  • Sleep semi-upright the first few nights.
  • Scar care with silicone and sun protection from the third week.

Results and how long they last

Relief for the back and neck is immediate. The final shape shows at 3 months and the scars mature over the first year.

Risks and how we reduce them

Possible changes in sensation, difficulty breastfeeding in the future and visible but planned scars. We talk about this openly, especially if you are planning pregnancies.
